How does it work?

Can I still have implants if I have gum disease (periodontitis)?

Having a gum disease does not necessarily mean you cannot have dental implants. When the gums start to recede, you also start losing bone underneath. The teeth become loose. We perform bone augmentation prior to the placement of the implants for people who lack jawbone.

Can I have a bar overdenture for the front teeth only?

If you have severe bone loss and bone grafting won’t be able to resolve it, dental implants can be inserted only to the side of your jaw.

The same condition applies if the bone is severely resorbed at the sides of the jawbone.

What is an overdenture with implants?

It is an overdenture that clip on dental implants using a non-removable bar to attach to. This type of fixed teeth solution is appropriate for patients with severe bone loss who have too resorbed jawbone beyond repair (for eg. patients that have been wearing a removable denture for 20 years).
